DEZIGNS BY KAMOHOALII share foundational values of Hawaiian culture to its audience through art and design. Created by World-renowned Kumu Hula Micah Kamohoalii in 2005, this line of clothing strives to educate in the ways of Hawaiian designs, metaphoric imagery and cultural significance with strong symbolism and interpretations.

 

DEZIGNS BY KAMOHOALII encompass all of Hawaiʻi’s natural environments and honor the excellence and brilliance of the Hawaiian people.  Kamohoalii’s passion for art led him into graphic design and his family’s legacy in Hawaiian Kapa led him into fashion. While merging these two elements the birthing of this company was formed. DEZIGNS BY KAMOHOALII feature layers of ʻike kuʻuna or traditional Hawaiian knowledge embedded in each design and inspired by Kamohoalii’s family’s mastery skills in working with Kapa, ʻOhe Kāpala, and Kākau. We honor the breath of life from our Kupuna by perpetuating, preserving, and retelling our stories in the designs we wear on our clothing.

 

 

 

JOB OVERVIEW

DEZIGNS BY KAMOHOALII (DBK) is hiring Part-Time Sales Asscociates to join our DBK ʻOhana.  A DBK Sales Associate will be a representation of the company and will be responsible to provide a positive shopping experience for all customers at DEZIGNS BY KAMOHOALII.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional customer sales service with Aloha.

  • Welcome and greet customers into the store.

  • Interact with customers and offer assistance to queries about products, styles and collections.

  • Thank customers upon check out and leaving store.

  • Provide prompt and efficient service to customers at all times.

  • Locate merchandises in store for customers and place orders when necessary.

  • Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the products and services offered by DEZIGNS BY KAMOHOALII.

  • Learn the story behind each original DEZIGNS BY KAMOHOALII print, design, style and product.

  • Operate cash register and handles payment processing through companyʻs POS (point of sale) system.

  • Handle refunds, exchanges and returns.

  • Maintain a standard of cleanliness in the store by performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, mirrors, clothing racks and other store equipment; disinfect high touch areas around store.

  • Work with other team members to create and maintain a pleasant environment for shoppers and staff.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

  • Follow directions given and completes assigned tasks

  • Take initiative and make independent decisions that is best for the customer and company.

  • Be punctual and have great attendance for scheduled shifts.

  • Follow and comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Recommended work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative, Customer Service Representative or a similar position with a customer service background.

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, including having an approachable and friendly manner.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Good time, task management and multi-tasking skills.

  • Maintains a positive attitude at all times.

  • Ability to work alone and as a team member.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills commonly used in retail environments.

  • Cash and credit card handling skills.

  • Has an open, flexible schedule and can work hours including days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

  • Ability to stand and walk around for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift/move 10 pounds or more if needed.

  • Willingness to accept and apply constructive criticism.

  • Familiarity with inventory procedures.

  • Proficiency in English.

  • Proficiency in other languages such as Hawaiian or Japanese is a plus.
